Going to 7th grade. Good place for a backpack hollister or abercrombie kids?

Hey im going to 7th grade (middle school) I was wondering if we still use backpacks or if we carry totes or if we wear messenger bags? Could someone tell me the answers to those questions and i was wondering what would be better to get a messenger sort of bag cheap from abercrombie kids or hollister? I mean a bag like this one.

Hey!! First off, have fun in middle school. It's ridiculously awesome if you hang with the right people. I pretty much forgot about middle school, but I know in high school most people either carry cute tote bags from forever 21/ hollister etc. or use jansport or north face backpacks. Northface backpacks are pretty sweet but ridiculously expensive. that tote that you posted from Hollister is really cute too, except I'm pretty sure after a few months of middle school lugging books back and forth it will brake, so go for something more reasonable, affordable, and practical.
