Can a mini HP laptop run the Sims 3?

Ok So I am thinking about getting a mini HP laptop because they are much more convenient in size that a bigger laptop. Like I am a college student so the bigger laptop bag is too much for me when traveling through airports and stuff.
But I also need a laptop that is great for games. So how exactly good is mini-laptops for gaming, such as the Sims 2 and 3?

So as long as the mini hp has dual core processors clocked at least to 2.0 ghz and it has at least 2 gb ram and a decent video card it will work great. The problem is that you wind up paying more to get the same amount of performance in a smaller unit.
